Vodacom Business convened the first #SMETHRIVESUMMIT to show up with tools and resources for business owners with a buzzing entrepreneurial spirit.

What the Vodacom SME Summit is all about

Small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) generate employment and contribute to business growth. Despite their pivotal role in South Africa, SMEs continue to face challenges preventing them from fulfilling their potential.

As a result, telecommunications giant, Vodacom recently held the first ever #SME Thrive Summit, this was a free event hosted at Vodacom World in Midrand to help empower small businesses with resources, knowledge, and networking.

Entrepreneurs were able to learn from sessions, exhibitions, keynotes, master classes, and panels. 2 entrepreneurs won R50,000 as well as a full day session with Vodacom South Africa CEO, Seth Mdlalose.

The launch of ExpertHive in partnership with ManyHands

Buhle Vilakazi, executive head of SMEs at Vodacom South Africa and Anton Moulder, founder of ManyHands briefly spoke about Vodacom's new venture with ManyHands called ExpertHive.

The #SMETHRIVESUMMIT was deeply rooted in meaningful conversations, information-sharing sessions, networking and exchanging tricks of the trade which can be summarised into the following:
